Hills Clinic Kellyville: why did TMS Australia open inside a mental health private clinic?

The Hills Clinic Kellyville was co-founded by Dr Ted Cassidy in 2004 with the goal to deliver better mental health services in the Hills area of Sydney. When transcranial magnetic stimulation was approved by the TGA for the treatment of depression, Dr Cassidy partnered with international TMS expert Professor Paul Fitzgerald.

Together, they founded TMS Australia to provide TMS therapy in a convenient and discreet outpatient setting with one mission in mind: “Bring happiness back into the life of patients and their loved ones”. By using the latest protocols, they are at the forefront of innovation and are committed to delivering the best patient outcomes.

The Hills Clinic Kellyville was the obvious location for a first clinic due to the number of patients eligible for such treatment. These patients were not satisfied with the efficacy and/or side effects of medication and did not want to undergo the invasive procedure that is ECT (electroconvulsive therapy).

Since then, TMS Australia has grown to a 7-clinic strong network around Sydney and Melbourne and plans to expand rapidly to make TMS therapy accessible to more Australians suffering from depression.
